Recently, the General Office of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee announced the fourth batch of National High-Level Personnel of Special Support Program (Ten Thousand Talents Plan). MVE Executive Dean Jiang Chao was included on the list.
Initiated in 2012, the National High-level Personnel of Special Support Program, or Ten Thousand Talents Plan, aims to select in ten years ten thousand elites, leading Chinese talents and outstanding young Chinese scholars in the fields of natural science, engineering technology, philosophy and social sciences. It is complementary with “the Recruitment Program of Global Experts (Thousand Talents Plan)” to increase personnel reserves.
Prof. Jiang Chao is a doctoral supervisor and executive dean of the College of Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering. Jiang is deputy director ofthe Key Laboratory of Advanced Design and Simulation Techniques for Special Equipment of Ministry of Education, and director of the Key Laboratory of Nuclear Equipment Reliability Technology of Hunan Province. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Asian Congress of Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimization (ASSMO), executive council member of China Society of Automobile Engineers, deputy director of the Random Vibration Committee of China Society of Vibration Engineering, council member of the Mechanical Design Branch and the Reliability Branch of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, member of the Academic Committee of National-Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Mobile Crane, and editorial board member of six domestic and foreign journals.
Jiang is supported by the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and a member of the “Changjiang Young Scholars Program” of the Ministry of Education.
His research focuses on complex equipment reliability technology, with more than 100 SCI papers published in domestic and foreign peer-reviewed journals, and cited for more than 1,500 times.
Jiang won a second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, three first prizes of ministerial and provincial science and technology progress award and natural science award, and was the winner of the 15th Chinese Youth Science and Technology Award, National Excellent Doctoral Dissertations, and ICCM Young Investigator Award.
His research achievements are applied in the fields of aerospace, nuclear engineering, and national defense equipment.
