报告人:Raymond Chiong(澳大利亚纽卡斯尔大学)

报告人简介:Raymond Chiong graduated with a PhD degree from the University of Melbourne. He teach in the University of Newcastle, Australia. His research areas include agent-based modelling, machine learning, and optimisation.

Raymond Chiong is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Systems and Information Technology, an Editor for the journal Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence, and an Associate Editor for the IEEE Computational Intelligence Magazine. He was the Editor-in-Chief of the Interdisciplinary Journal of Information, Knowledge, and Management from 2011-2014. He has also served in a Guest Editor role for a number of reputable international journals, such as the International Journal of Production Economics and European Journal of Operational Research. He was one of the Founding co-chairs of the IEEE Symposium on Computational Intelligence in Production and Logistics Systems. He is a senior member of the IEEE.

To date, Raymond Chiong has published more than 150 papers. His publications have been cited more than 2000 times and his h-index and index 10 of Google Scholar are 23 and 50, respectively.

报告内容:in this talk, I will discuss about my main research areas on the use of agent-based modelling, machine learning, and optimisation methods for industry and service-related applications. Specifically, I will show how we use agent-based modelling to study interactions in product sharing, how machine learning and clustering models can be used for fault detection in the mining industry, and how meta-heuristic optimisation algorithm can be used in the service industry. I will also talk about research activities carried out by my PHD students and ongoing project have with my international collaborators.
